Cardiologist: Hema L. Korlakunta, MD, FACC

Hema L. Korlakunta, M.D., F.A.C.C. is a board certified Interventional Cardiologist. She is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas. In addition to her practice at Apex Heart Care of North Texas, she serves as the Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.

Dr. Korlakunta received her medical degree from the highly reputed Osmania University in India. Completing her residency training at Mayo Clinic and Creighton University, Dr. Korlakunta received cardiology fellowship from The Cardiac Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She received her training in cardiac imaging from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and the Texas Heart Institute in Houston.

Dr. Korlakunta completed her fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Baylor University in Houston. Dr. Korlakunta is board certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. She specializes in advanced cardiovascular procedures, which include angioplasty, stenting of the legs and kidneys. Her special interests include women’s cardiac care.

She founded Apex Heart Care of North Texas in 2014 to offer the specialized heart and vascular care you and your family can depend on.

She is a member, as well as a fellow, of the American College of Cardiology.
